Being Single

There's nothing wrong with being single.

Think of all of the people in relationships who are married/recently married, etc, who are miserable.  Some people just get married so they don't have to be alone.  Really?

Or maybe people get married because that's what the world expects of them.  And then they compound what may be a less than ideal relationship by having kids...oh hell...

This section is about being single.

There are a couple of super books out there that I really liked on this topic

Most favorite:
Singled Out: How Singles Are Stereotyped, Stigmatized, and Ignored, and Still Live Happily Ever After by Bella DePaulo
This Singled Out book really laid down the research about what makes people happy.  It is proven that the most happy people are married, second are those that never get married, and third are those that are divorced.  I would much rather wait to get married or never get married than have an exhusband.
Single: The Art of Being Satisfied, Fulfilled, and Independent by Judy FordChose to be Happy: A Guide to Total Happiness by Rima Rudner (currently reading)

I think that the key here is that happiness does not come from being with someone, it comes from within ourselves.  That's a tough pill to swallow sometimes.
